Organisation

The structure

The structure of TerveysNet organisation is comprised of executive group, co-ordination university, member universities and departments, planning group and course teams. In addition the pursuit of TerveysNet is evaluated regularly, and executive group appoints this evaluation group (Figure 1).

TerveysNet's vision

TerveysNet is a part of the member universities' education and research activity.

    • Some of the courses are common to all members and some are supplements to offered teaching
    • The courses are included in the curricula of the member departments
    • Teaching is provided to undergraduate, postgraduate and international students in Finnish, Swedish and English

 

TerveysNet's objectives in 2007-2009

To improve the level of education and research in health science students by utilising the diversified areas of competence of the member health science departments

To offer health science students high quality courses and increase their available choices in a web-based learning environment

To create shared objectives in current educational policy questions in health sciences

To strenghten the significance of field as an disciplinary entity in the social services and health care sector and in development work

 

TerveysNet's modes of operation

Planning, implementation and evaluation of common web-based courses

Co-operation with the Finnish Virtual University and other university networks

Increasing national and international co-operation by participating in conferences and writing publications

Compilation of reports and comments on health sciences, when needed

Annual research or education symposium

Webpages as an informative channel
